This versatile resource has components for students and teachers so it can be used in a variety of ways to encourage higher-order thinking and reading skills based on multiple perspectives. The resource uses a checklist to determine which literary theories can be used to analyze any text.
Once complete, the checklist corresponds with a page of the literary theory flipbook for students. Teachers can use the source to determine which literary theories can be used to analyze a work as a whole class model.
For the teacher, each literary theory includes the historical background, explanations, and strategies for teaching each theory. For students, the resource includes a theory flipbook that includes background on the theory, an overview of the task for each theory, further research topics, and a short assignment for completing an analysis of the work and theory cards that include tasks, tips, and further research topics.
